Advanced Seminars

Periodically, we offer a series of Advanced Seminars in play therapy and other relevant topics as requested by therapists who attend. Play therapy speakers include therapists from the Family & Play Therapy Center as well as authors from around the country in the fields of play therapy and Sandtray/sandplay therapy. (Also see Winter/Spring Contextual Trainings.) We offer workshops in mindfulness meditation and transpersonal psychology.

Most Seminars are full-day events and include morning fruit, tea, handouts, and a certificate of attendance. The seminars provide credit hours toward becoming a registered play therapist or a registered play therapist supervisor with the Association for Play Therapy.

We receive Continuing Education Credits (CEs) from the Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Professional Counseling State Board. Therapists are required to have 30 clock hours of continuing education (every two years ending in February of the odd year) in acceptable courses and programs offered by approved providers. At least three of these hours need to be in ethics and legal issues. Many insurance companies offer a discount for 6 hours of training in legal and ethical topics.

Please check our brochure listing to find out more about upcoming seminars.
